4. Usage
1. Standard ratio (weight ratio): main agent: curing agent = 5:1. When the air humidity is high (greater than 80%), the curing agent must be added in an appropriate amount.
2. Dilution: First calculate and weigh the ethyl acetate required for a certain working concentration (the water content of ethyl acetate cannot exceed 500ppm, and it is not allowed to contain alcohol, amine and other lamination impurities), then add ethyl acetate to the known weight of the main agent, stir it in a fixed direction (for example, clockwise), add the curing agent after it is evenly mixed, and stir it again. It is best to mix the whole barrel of main agent with the whole barrel of curing agent, because the amount of curing agent is small, and mixing it several times will result in low weighing accuracy. When calculating the working concentration, the viscosity of the solution should be taken into account, because the viscosity will affect the coating amount and coating state.
3. Standard ratio and solvent comparison table and working fluid viscosity changes

Working concentration% Main agent (kg) Curing agent (kg) Diluent (kg) Viscosity (zahn3# cup/25℃) seconds
35% 5 1 4.6 21.5
32% 5 1 5.5 19.2
30% 5 1 6.3 17.2
28% 5 1 7.1 15.6
25% 5 1 8.7 13.2

4. Calculation of coating amount: There is a rough empirical formula for the calculation of coating amount of Bumeilan and laser coating rollers for reference
Dry basis coating amount (g/㎡) = 0.2 × working liquid concentration % × mesh depth µ × working liquid
specific gravity The above formula cannot be applied to electro-engraving coating rollers and pyramidal embossed coating rollers. The specific gravity   of the working liquid concentration of 41% is 1; while the specific gravity of the concentration of 26% is 0.96. The specific gravity can be ignored for calculations with low precision.
5. Selection of coating amount: For lamination high-temperature sterilization and cooking bags, the coating amount (dry basis) cannot be less than 4g/㎡, and the anti-media packaging can be appropriately reduced. The coating amount requirements are all constant, which is not the same as the statistical average. The heat resistance of the adhesive depends first on the degree of drying. The premise of increasing the coating amount is to ensure thorough drying. The surface treatment degree of the substrate film also affects the peel strength, especially PET, PA and AL.
6. Drying: In order to make the solvent in the coating layer of the substrate film evaporate cleanly, the drying efficiency of the dry laminating machine should be improved as much as possible. The factors that affect the drying efficiency include hot air temperature, wind speed and air volume. The faster the lamination speed, the higher the drying efficiency requirement. On the contrary, when the equipment has low drying efficiency, the lamination speed can only be reduced. The wind speed and air volume of the lamination machine are generally not adjusted frequently after calibration, but the hot air temperature and lamination speed are often changed. The principle of setting the hot air temperature is to set it low first and then high to form a temperature gradient. The purpose is to prevent the coating surface from drying too quickly and hindering the further volatilization of the internal solvent. This is often called "false drying". For example, when the wind speed of the drying box nozzle is 30 m/s and the lamination speed is about 80 m, the hot air can be set to 50-60°C, 60-70°C, 70-80°C, depending on the substrate and the coating amount.
7. Lamination: Under the premise of not overstretching or damaging the film, the temperature of the lamination hot roller should be increased as much as possible. The temperature of the hot roller can be selected between 50 and 90°C. Note: The temperature of the heating oil cylinder is not equal to the temperature of the hot roller, and the temperature of the edge of the hot roller is not equal to the temperature in the middle of the hot roller. The line pressure of the hot roller is determined by the cylinder diameter, air pressure, hardness and length of the silicone roller. Only the air pressure can be adjusted frequently. The line pressure of the hot roller cannot be compared by the reading of the pressure gauge for different lamination machines.
8. Aging: The lamination film off the machine should be sent to the aging room as soon as possible. The lamination film is heated at 50-60°C. The uncured adhesive will melt and level, eliminating small bubbles and white spots. After continuous aging for 72 hours, satisfactory bonding strength can be achieved. The air in the aging room is required to circulate in order to make the temperature of the aging room consistent; the air with high solvent content in the aging room is continuously discharged to reduce the solvent concentration of the indoor air through convection, which is conducive to the continued volatilization of the residual solvent in the lamination film.
V. Notes:
1. The amount of glue to be prepared depends on the needs. It should be prepared immediately before use. It is best to use up the prepared glue on the same day. The remaining glue should not be used in principle. If there is too much remaining glue, it can be diluted several times with solvent and placed in a sealed container and stored in a cool and dry place. When working the next day, the remaining glue can be used as a diluent in small amounts (about 20% or less) and gradually mixed into the newly prepared glue (downgraded use). If turbidity, translucency and viscosity increase are found, it cannot be used again.
2. lamination substrates such as BOPET, BOPA, CPP and other films all need surface treatment. The surface tension of cooking grade CPP requires more than 39 dynes, and BOPET and BOPA must reach more than 52 dynes. AL must be annealed and degreased cleanly; BOPET and BOPA that are not double-sided treated cannot be lamination d on both sides in principle, otherwise the peel strength of the non-corona surface cannot be guaranteed.
